And why are we different?

•We have a well grounded programme honed and evolved over 20 years
•Our course is 205 hours including a residential weekend, the industry standard is 140 and the MTI minimum 160
•Our graduates have the confidence to go straight into professional practice on qualifying and very many do
•Good body use is the basis of our course. This means you don’t damage your own body leading to pain and early retirement from massage. It also improves the quality of your massage.
•Self awareness and personal development - an essential and well supported part of the training
•Anatomy, physiology and pathology taught in a thoroughly dynamic fun way and always related to massage practice
•High staff:student ratio - a minimum of 1 tutor and 2 assistants to 22 students and often higher
•Excellence is our standard
•We don’t teach a routine, our massage is person centred, you have a tool box from which you can give an individual massage each time
•At the end of the course each graduate has developed their own personal style, all different
•The whole teaching team is ridiculously passionate about massage and massage teaching!
Applications are currently being accepted for the next course starting in February 2012

CPD workshops for qualified practitioners

Deep Tissue Massage with Andy Fagg

20th and 27th March and 3rd April  3 day course

Many clients ask us for Deep Massage. How can we do this effectively without straining ourselves? How can we engage with clients in a focused, creative manner that brings lasting release?

This workshop will include:

Muscle physiology and palpation skills;
Emphasis on good posture and movement;
Ideas for progressively deeper massage and detailed stretching, leading to…
Work with Trigger Points in muscle fibres and tendons;
The principles and application of neuromuscular technique (NMT) and muscle energy technique (MET);
Using them to release deep localised tensions and to normalise associated muscle function.
Whilst this approach can be used anywhere in the body, we will also look at 3 vital postural muscle releases – the piriformis, psoas and diaphragm.

These techniques can help to relieve common symptoms including back pain, sciatica, respiratory problems, poor circulation, joint stiffness and general fatigue.

The workshop is open to all massage therapists and is an excellent stepping stone to our Remedial and Sports Massage Diploma for those who with to take things further.

Cost
£195 if booked and paid in full by 31 December 2016, £225 early bird if booked by 20 Feb, £240 thereafter
